The Two Percent Company Comment Policy
In addition to the policies stated in our Terms of Use, the following are general guidelines concerning the use of the Comment feature on the Two Percent Company's Rants. While we encourage a wide variety of comments, including dissenting opinions, not all comments are welcome. In order to properly set expectations, please understand the following policies.
If at all reasonable, we will try to leave comments as they have been posted, with some exceptions:
- Spam will be removed in its entirety with no warning to the author, and the author's IP address may be banned, both at the sole discretion of the Two Percent Company.
- Illegal comments (including without limitation copyright infringement and threats of violence) may be removed in their entirety at the sole discretion of the Two Percent Company.
- Duplicate comments may be removed without notice to the author since we assume that the duplicate was submitted in error. We will, of course, leave the original comment in such cases.
- Link errors or general formatting issues may be edited by the management, at our sole discretion, in order to improve site function. For instance, we often add tags to commenters' links which will spawn new windows rather than opening in our Rant window.
- The management may move comments that are deemed inappropriate to the topic of the entry post, excessively inflammatory, or otherwise disruptive of substantive commentary. Such comments will be moved to a post designated to hold them (known as Scribbled Above the Urinal).
- If you would like us to remove a comment that you placed in error, you can contact us via our Contact Page requesting that we do so. If your request is reasonable and if removal does not adversely affect site functionality, we will do what we can to comply. However, we maintain the right to not delete your comment if we so desire.
- Lying about your identity in a comment may lead to removal of one or more of your comments as well as blocking of your IP address, at the Two Percent Company's sole discretion.
Most people will never be in conflict with these policies, but we realize that there are morons out there who insist on proving their ignorance. We will post any changes to this policy on this page.
